As Disney+ Marvel shows continue to impress with WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, the MCU hasn’t stopped moving on its upcoming projects. Now we know Hawkeye is one step closer to fans.
Star Jeremy Renner announced via Instagram today the series had wrapped filming. You can see a screenshot of the news on his story below.
“Last day, for now… This is now goodbye, but a see you soon. Thank you cast, crew, and Marvel,” reads the text over Renner’s picture. The mirror selfie reveals a few scrapes on Clint Barton’s face, but otherwise, no further sneak peek into Hawkeye.
Of course, if you want to start speculating, Renner’s post definitely isn’t a full farewell to the character. He implies Hawkeye will return. Whether that’s on a future season of Hawkeye or in a Marvel feature, we don’t yet know. Despite the fact that Hawkeye only just wrapped production, Marvel announced a spinoff series months ago.
Plus, there’s a whole lineup of Marvel shows still headed to Disney+. After The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, fans get Loki. Down the line premieres include Ms. Marvel, Secret Invasion, She-Hulk and more. And of course, a whole bunch of Marvel features, from the long-awaited Black Widow to Shang-Chi to The Eternals.
Hawkeye doesn’t have an official Disney+ release date yet, but the series will likely premiere in late 2021.
So, are you looking forward to Hawkeye? Let us know in the comments.
