The Toxic Avenger is a horror property that could actually be due for a reboot. Now I know that term is one that makes horror fans cringe these days. But think about it, the original film’s message might be more prevalent these days. It’s all about the dangers of poisoning your own environment. The 1984 hit fits in today’s world pretty well, it’s basically Deadpool before that comic and movie. If you’re worried, it looks like the film is in good hands.

According to Deadline, Jacob Tremblay and Peter Dinklage are co-starring in the film. Before you grab your pitchforks, Troma mastermind, Lloyd Kaufman is on board as an executive producer as well. Tremblay is an award winning actor and Peter Dinklage needs no introduction as well. Macon Blair is set to direct the film.

There’s no release date or any other casting news at this moment, but for a reboot, this is a pretty good start. The Toxic Avenger spawned multiple sequels, tv shows, and even a musical.

So we’ll have to keep you updated on this one, but for now, it doesn’t seem like a terrible reboot.
