With the cast introduced and the production getting started on the new Obi-Wan Kenobi series there is a lot of excitement flowing around the series. Well, thanks to the release of the new Skywalker: A Family at War book there is even more excitement brewing from fans that are hoping to see Qui-Gon Jinn make an appearance of some sort in the series. In a post on Reddit, we have learned that Obi-Wan was finally able to communicate with his former Master Qui-Gon just as Yoda did in The Clone Wars season 6.

Obi-Wan Kenobi Finally Speaks to Qui-Gon

Qui-Gon

“Before he and Yoda had parted ways, the old Jedi revealed that Obi-Wan’s beloved master Qui-Gon Jinn had returned from the netherwold of the Force, manifesting his conscious mind even after death. It took 10 years, but eventually Obi-Wan was able to commune with his dearest friend, resurrected within the cosmic Force.”

Will We See Qui-Gon in the new Kenobi Series?

As a fan of Qui-Gon I can see where this would make people excited about the possible return of the deceased Jedi Master. But we also have to remember that if Star Wars sticks with the past canon events, he will not be able to return as a Force Ghost. You may recall back in season 6 of Star Wars: The Clone Wars (Voices) Qui-Gon could not achieve physical manifestation since he was unable to finish his training, as you can see in the clip below.

So will we see Qui-Gon as a Force ghost? The Force can work in mysterious ways. It would be great to see Liam Neeson reprising his role as Qui-Gon Jinn, but it will probably be in the form of a vision, a flashback, or just a voice. Who knows, with things going great on Disney+ now maybe we will get a new series featuring Qui-Gon.
