Jujutsu Kaisen may have just finished the first season of the anime, but it’s still far from over. In fact, they’re only just getting to the good part, starting with this fan event.

Jujutsu wielders being jujutsu.

Jujutsu Kaisen announces on Twitter that they’ll be holding a new event called “Jujutsu Fest 2021” on June 13, 2021. This will be the series’ first event ever. Unfortunately, that’s all we have in terms of actual news. We don’t know where the event will take place, and we don’t know what the event will actually consist of. All we have is a date, and the fact that the anime/manga will be the central theme, and that’s it. It’s entirely possible that due to a certain COVID-19, this event will be virtual, but that’s pure speculation at this point, so take it with a grain of salt. As someone not familiar with the series, I do wonder about the panda.

When you stop to think about it though, it’s not really surprising that Jujutsu Kaisen is getting a big event like this so soon after the anime’s first season concluded. The anime series by Studio MAPPA was at least partially responsible for the series’ fame and popularity. In fact, their animation style made this supernatural dark fantasy series a global sensation.

I’m getting Serious Punch flashbacks here.

In fact, it was likely Studio MAPPA’s great job on the anime that ensured that they were also going to get the opportunity to make the Jujutsu Kaisen anime film. Jujutsu Kaisen 0 the Movie is based off of a side story by the mangaka, Gege Akutami, and serves as a prequel to the whole series. The anime film itself will release sometime in Winter 2021, so you have plenty of time to get hyped over it.

Protip: the new era has begun already.

Conclusion

Jujutsu Kaisen will be getting a fan event called “Jujutsu Fest 2021” in June 13, 2021. That’s it as far as details go for this anime event. Tune in later for more news as this story develops.
