It looks like the Dark Knight will have a very long night indeed in Batman: The Long Halloween: Part One. Especially now that they’ve announced the voice cast for this animated film.
The first part of the two-part Batman: The Long Halloween animated film series has now finally revealed its voice cast via The Hollywood Reporter and others. First and foremost, we have Jensen Ackles playing Bruce Wayne/Batman himself. All of you Supernatural fans out there will be more familiar with this name as Dean Winchester. Although apparently, Ackles isn’t a strange to Batman himself, what with him voicing Jason Todd in Batman: Under the Red Hood.
In addition, the late Glee star Naya Rivera will voice Selina Kyle/Catwoman in Batman: The Long Halloween. You might wonder how a dearly departed actress can continue to play the role from beyond the grave? Well, apparently, she actually managed to complete her voice dubs for both Part One and Part Two before her untimely demise. Thus, this will be one of her final roles. Hopefully, when we see the first part of this animated duology sometime in Summer 2021, it’ll be a memorable one.
Batman: The Long Halloween Continues!
Jensen Ackles and Naya Rivera aren’t the only voice actors/actresses playing big roles in Batman: The Long Halloween though. Joining the cast is Josh Duhamel (Transformers) as Harvey Dent/Two-Face, Billy Burke (Zoo) as James Gordon, Titus Welliver (Lost, Deadwod) as Carmine Falcone, David Dastmalchian (Ant-Man) as Calendar Man, Troy Baker (so many anime) as Joker, Amy Landecker (Transparent) as Barbara Gordon, Julie Nathanson (Beauty and the Beast) as Gilda Dent, Jack Quaid (The Boys) as Alberto Falcone, Fred Tatasciore (numerous animated films and anime) as Solomon Grundy, and Alastair Duncan (The Batman) as Alfred.
Also included in this list are Frances Callier, Greg Chun, Gary Leroi Gray, and Jim Pirri; who will play miscellaneous unnamed roles in Batman: The Long Halloween Part One. I don’t know about you, but that’s enough celebrities to last a lifetime.
Conclusion
Batman: The Long Halloween just released an extensive list of actors and actresses who will voice roles in the animated duology. If you have any interest in watching this animated adaptation of the acclaimed comic book, check it out sometime in Summer 2021. Considering that this was one of the Batman comics that inspired Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy, I think you’ll find it to be worth your time.
