The fairy tale gang is getting back together. It looks like both James Marsden and Idina Menzel will reprise their roles in the Enchanted sequel.

Fans had been dreaming of a sequel to 2007’s Enchanted for a while. During Disney Investor Day last December, the studio revealed those dreams would become a reality. The planned sequel, Disenchanted, confirmed the return of lead Amy Adams as Giselle.

A month later, DisInsider confirmed Patrick Dempsey would also reprise his original film role. But the rest of the core cast was up in the air – until now.

During a virtual interview with JLBG, composer Alan Menken revealed both James Marsden and Idina Menzel would also return.

When asked about Disenchanted, Menken said, “It’s really good. I don’t think I’m allowed [to say much]. It’s filming,” Menken said. “Amy Adams is in it. Patrick is in it. Idina Menzel is in it. James Marsden — they’re in it.”

(Yes, I do think it’s fun that Menken specifically wanted to not reveal details about the movie, and then accidentally confirmed two cast members. Oops!)

You can watch Menken’s full interview below. He also talks about the upcoming live-action Little Mermaid movie.

Beyond the casting, we don’t have many details about Disenchanted just yet. But we do know the studio plans to release the movie on Disney+.

So, are you excited to see Marsden and Menzel make their royal returns? Let us know what you’re hoping to see in Disenchanted in the comments below.
