The Chucky TV series is bringing back another film cast member. Fiona Dourif will reprise her role as Nica for the show.
Dourif first appeared as Nica in the 2013 film Curse of Chucky. She later reprised her role in 2017’s Cult of Chucky. And the killer doll franchise is a family affair; the actor’s father Brad Dourif has voiced Chucky himself since the 1988 original Child’s Play.
Dourif joins previously announced film star Jennifer Tilly, reprising her role as Tiffany Valentine. The series also stars Devon Sawa (Final Destination). Zackary Arthur, Teo Briones, Alyvia Alyn Lind, and Björgvin Arnarson round out the teen cast. You can get more details about these new characters here.
Creator and showrunner Don Mancini will direct the first episode of the series.
Dourif recently starred in Christopher Nolan’s Tenet. She’s known for her TV roles in The Stand, The Blacklist, and Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency.
You can check out a teaser for the new Chucky series below.
Chucky brings back everyone’s favorite (least favorite?) murderous doll from the Child’s Play film series. After a vintage Chucky doll turns up at a suburban yard sale, an idyllic American town is thrown into chaos as a series of horrifying murders begin to expose the town’s hypocrisies and secrets. Meanwhile, the arrival of enemies — and allies — from Chucky’s past threatens to expose the truth behind the killings, as well as the demon doll’s untold origins as a seemingly ordinary child who somehow became this notorious monster.
So, are you looking forward to Chucky’s (and Dourif’s) return? Let us know in the comments.
