1977’s Star Wars propelled Mark Hamill to instant stardom. Over the course of the last forty-plus years, Hamill, and his character of Luke Skywalker, have respectively become one of the most beloved actors and characters in film. Never one to let that go to his head, Hamill has remained humble and accessible to the fans that adore him. His social media is a constant source of amusement, and he’s at it again. This time he weighs in on one of the longest-standing Star Wars conspiracies in the franchise. Is there a bigger Luke Skywalker?
He can probably lay some blame at the feet of Carrie Fisher’s Leia Organa. Ever since she uttered the words “Aren’t you a little short for a Stormtrooper” there have been questions about the actor and his character’s height. So much so, in fact, that there is even a conspiracy theory that Mark Hamill has a slightly taller twin that appeared in the original film. (Or shorter, I suppose, from a certain point of view.) Thus began the Bigger Luke conspiracy. The actor recently got in on the silliness, as you can see in his Tweet below.
“Luking for a really fun conspiracy?” Mark Hamill weighs in on Bigger Luke
Luking for a really fun conspiracy? Luke no further. It’s hard to believe how long we were able to fool everyone, but to be fair: the only time both of us appeared together at the same time was with Kermit on The Muppet Show.#BiggerThanRegular pic.twitter.com/CYNivLEPqJ

As the theory goes, there are two Hamills to go around. How can you tell? Review scenes in which the Luke Skywalker actor appears with co-star Harrison Ford, specifically. Supposedly Luke’s height varies in relation to Han Solo. Of course that’s nonsense, but leave it to Mark Hamill to stir the conspiracy pot with a single Tweet. “It’s hard to believe how long we were able to fool everyone,” he quips. To seemingly “confirm” the conspiracy he adds that the only time you’ve ever seen Luke and “Bigger Luke” together was on an episode of The Muppet Show. (See Kermit the Frog for size reference.)
From talking about that meme, to the wonderful thoughts and comments he proffers for and towards his Star Wars co-stars (especially the late Carrie Fisher), Mark Hamill never ceases to show just want an amazing human being he truly is. Now, Bigger Luke, on the other hand…. The jury is still out on that guy.
