The Flash is shaping up to be one of the biggest films in the DC Film Universe. Whether that’s the return of Michael Keaton as Batman, or just the overall story of the film. Now, from The Hollywood Reporter says that Kiersey Clemons has signed on to the film as Barry West’s love interest, Iris West. She originally had a role in Justice League, but it was cut at some point when Joss Whedon took over that film from Zack Snyder. She’s apparently back in the upcoming director’s cut of Justice League, coming to HBO Max, March 18th.
Andy Muschietti is directing the film, which is written by Christina Hodson. While the exact details of the plot are under wraps, we’ve reported in the past that the film follows the Flashpoint storyline. The film also added Sasha Calle as Supergirl. So while it’s a standalone Flash film, it could have gigantic repurcussions throughout the DC Universe.
It could perhaps have two Batman characters in it, if a report from earlier this year is correct.
The film opens in theaters November 4th, 2022.
