It might surprise you to find out prolific prosthetic artist Mike Marino describes Coming 2 America as a dream project.
After all, he’s done some incredible work throughout his career, from zombie flicks like The Dead Don’t Die and I Am Legend to dramas like Black Swan and Boardwalk Empire.
But taking on the Coming to America sequel meant he got to emulate the style of Rick Baker, who worked on the original film.
“It was a total dream come true for me to be able to do this film, because “Thriller” and Coming to America’ were like my dream [projects],’ Marino explained, referencing two famous Baker works.

Marino also discusses his favorite prosthetics in the film and his love for Eddie Murphy.
“Coming to America is just like the greatest film ever,” said Marino. “Eddie Murphy is one of my idols.”
And Marino’s next big project? The Batman with Robert Pattinson.
“There’s some character makeup going into the film,” Marino teased, encouraging fans to take a close look at the trailer.
But while fans have a while to wait for The Batman, the (decades-long) wait for Coming 2 America is officially over.
