BOOM! Studios and Wizards of the Coast are teaming up for a brand new Magic: The Gathering comic series. The series, simply titled, Magic, is coming to stores April 7th, 2021. The series comes from Jed McKay, artist Ig Guara, colorist Arianna Consonni, and letterer Ed Dukeshire. Eager fans can get a preview of the first issue in a new surprise ashcan, next week, March 10th. The first issue focuses on coordinated assassination attempts on several Guildmasters on the plane of Ravnica. These Guildmasters, Ral Zarek, Vraska, and Kaya leave Ravnica in chaos. Jace Beleren’s life is in the balance and the fire lit threatens to break the entire plane of Ravnica.
The three Guildmasters travel to the plane of Zendikar to find out why Planeswalkers are all the targets of the attempts. This leads them to one of the most enigmatic characters in all of Magic’s history.
Magic #1 features cover art from Matteo Scalera. It also has a variant editions of the cover by Ig Guara, InHyuk Lee, and Junggeun Yoon. In addition to those, there are special Planeswalker variant covers. These are illustrated by Miguel Mercado, Taj Tenfold, and Magdalena Pagowska.

There’s also a limited edition Magic Pack version with ALL of the variant covers in one package. This pack contains one more special variant cover by Mirka Andolfo. It also has a randomly inserted Hidden Planeswalker variant cover, the main cover by Scalera, and a Black blank sketch cover. This package is also available in April 2021.
Print copies of Magic #1 go on sale exclusively at local comic shops (use ComicShopLocator to find one near you!) starting April 7th. Digital copies go out to providers on the same day.
