One thing that was fantastic about Taika Waititi’s depiction of Thor in Thor: Ragnarok is that it gave him a huge edge of humor. That humor bled into the rest of the movie and it made Thor a better character overall. Thor: Love and Thunder is currently filming in Australia and thanks to The Daily Mail, we have some set photos showing off what we can only assume is one of those funny scenes. In Thor: Ragnarok, we had Matt Damon as Loki and Sam Neill as Odin in a retelling of stories past. This time around, it looks like we’re getting Melissa McCarthy as “Play Hela”.

It looks like that joke is back in full force because Luke Hemsworth who played the “Play Thor” is also back on set in full costume. The upcoming film already has a star-studded cast. So, adding these to it might make it the most star studded non-Avengers/Captain America: Civil War movie. Chris Pratt and some of the other Guardians of the Galaxy were seen on set as well.

We’ll have to see just how this scene works or if it connects to the story in some way when Thor: Love and Thunder releases February 11th, 2022.
