Right now, fans are not exactly sure what to expect from the new Obi-Wan Kenobi Star Wars series coming to Disney+. We do know that Hayden Christensen will appear in some capacity as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader. We also know that the incredible Deborah Chow will direct the limited series. If her work on The Mandalorian is any indication, the new Kenobi should be intense and action-packed. If there was any question about that before, we can probably put an end to that debate now. A new Instagram post from his physical trainer shows us what Ewan McGregor has been up to. He’s slimming down and packing on the muscle to reprise his role as the Jedi Master.

Trainer Tony Horton recently shared a photo of Ewan McGregor on Instagram. The photo caption reads “it seems that this Scottish fellow is starting to lean up and slim down. He hasn’t missed a day, and his diet has been spot on. This was day 16.”
Ewan McGregor gets in shape for Kenobi series
After mostly COVID-19 related delays, we hear production on the series is schedule to begin soon. McGregor will of course reprise the role of Obi-Wan Kenobi, the Jedi he played throughout the Star Wars prequels. As much as Sir Alec Guinness embodied the elder, wiser Kenobi, McGregor earned the respect and adoration of fans across the fandom for portraying the younger Obi-Wan.
That McGregor is engaged in what appears to be a rigorous work out regiment gives us at least one clue into the series. Obi-Wan will clearly see some physical action in the series. The Scottish actor is known for the intensity with which he played Kenobi, including having to do multiple takes of his prequel fight scenes because he was making lightsaber noises. If he’s already getting ripped in order to reprise the role, then Deborah Chow is sure to give us some great Star Wars action.
