One of the most legendary and well renowned actors of our lifetime, has died. Christopher Plummer, the star of The Sound Of Music, Beginners, The Insider, and many other films died early Friday morning at the age of 91. He passed peacefully with his wife Elaine Taylor, who was his partner for 53 years.
Plummer had one of the most iconic voices in the history of cinema. With it, and the rest of his talent, his presence was immediately captivating on camera. He was the oldest actor to ever win the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in Beginners. He also won two Tony Awards for his performances on the stage. His career spanned multiple decades of excellence and younger fans might recognize him from Rian Johnson’s Knives Out from 2019.
Animated fans will also recognize his captivating vocals in the Pixar film, Up. No matter where you recognize him, you’ll always remember him. His talent as an actor was off the charts. Plummer is survived by his wife Elaine Taylor and his daughter, Amanda Plummer.
