Netflix loves a true crime series, and we have some new information about a big one currently in the works.

Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story from super producer Ryan Murphy was announced last October. The limited series tells the story of one of America’s most notorious serial killers. While the initial announcement included the casting of Richard Jenkins as Dahmer’s father, the production had not yet cast Dahmer himself.

Now THS can exclusively report sources close to the production have identified two potential actors being seriously considered for the role: Jacob McCarthy and Jordan Renzo.

McCarthy’s recent credits include the film The Last Summer, as well as his role as Devin in the series A.P. Bio.

Renzo is known for his role in the Doctor Who spinoff Class and the STARZ series The Spanish Princess. He also appeared in an episode of The Witcher on Netflix.

As for which actor Netflix will ultimately choose, we’ll just have to wait and see.

Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story aims to tell the story of the notorious killer largely from the point of view of his victims. The Netflix production will emphasize the way Dahmer’s white privilege helped him avoid apprehension by police for so long. The series dramatizes at least 10 instances where Dahmer was almost brought in by the authorities, but was ultimately let go.

Carl Franklin (Mindhunter) co-directs the series with writer Janet Mock (Pose).

Who would you cast as Dahmer? McCarthy, Renzo, or someone else entirely? Let us know in the comments.
