Lately, it seems like everything Jon Favreau touches turns to gold. From Iron Man to The Lion King, Favreau has been cranking out hit after hit and this was no different when he introduced us all to the Disney+ hit, Star Wars: The Mandalorian. So with that, there were some that were hoping he would have a role in the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series. Well, during an interview with Eddie Izzard, actor Ewan McGregor confirmed that Favreau is not involved in the series.

Ewan McGregor Talks About The Obi-Wan Kenobi Series

“No, Deborah Chow is directing ours and she directed two episodes of the first Mandalorian series, and she’s brilliant and I’m really looking forward to working with her.”

Should We Be Worried?

Should Star Wars fan be worried? My answer would be no, we have already seen the great work Deborah Chow has done in The Mandalorian. Fans should be excited to see what she will do with the Obi-Wan Series. Especially knowing that we will see Obi-Wan square off again against Anakin (this time as Darth Vader). Also with it being filmed the same way as The Mandalorian, she will already be familiar with a lot of the processes.
