Now that we’ve entered 2021, WandaVision is closer than ever.
The first live-action Marvel series on Disney+ starts streaming January 15. So, Disney’s rolling out new clips and info about the show.
The latest WandaVision TV spot actually reveals the theme song. Check it out in the below clip.
Oscar-winning songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez of Frozen fame wrote this WandaVision theme.
“WandaVision is such a cool, strange, one-of-a-kind project,” said Lopez. “When the director, Matt Shakman—an old friend from my college days—pitched it to us, we didn’t have to think about it. We loved the bright feeling of American sitcoms mixed with the deep sense of unease the story had, and it was a really inviting challenge to help set that tone.”
But Wait – There’s More Than One Theme Song
WandaVision spans decades, from the 1950s to the early 2000s. You can expect the music to evolve as the timeline does. That’s right, Wandavision promises us more than one theme song.
“I grew up in the ’80s watching shows from every decade on the networks all day long. Episodes from ‘I Love Lucy,’ ‘Brady Bunch’ and ‘Family Ties’ shaped who I am and how I move through the world. So this project was a dream come true,” said Anderson-Lopez.
Marvel’s WandaVision blends classic television with the MCU. The series follows Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff (aka Scarlet Witch) and Paul Bettany’s Vision as the two super-powered beings attempt to live normal suburban lives. But life’s not that simple, and the pair begin to suspect everything isn’t what it seems.
The nine-episode season of WandaVision premieres on Disney+ January 15.
