For Most Star Wars fans 2020 ended with a bang! Not only did we get a look at a lot of future projects heading our way the next few years, but we also got a season finale of The Mandalorian that we will never forget! Right, when it looked like Mando, Grogu, Bo-Katan, Cara Dune, Fennec Shand, and Koska Reeves were going to have their hands full with a platoon of Dark Troopers, here comes Luke Skywalker to save the day. This was not only an emotional moment for us fans, it also meant a lot to Mark Hamill. Hamill took to Twitter to express his feelings about his cameo in The Mandalorian.
Mark Hamill Thanks Jon Favreau & Dave Filoni
“Sometimes the greatest gifts are the most unexpected and something you never realized you wanted until it was given,” Hamill tweeted, before adding, “#ThankYouJonAndDave
As a Star Wars fan, seeing Luke Skywalker make an appearance in The Mandalorian brought tears to my eyes. Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni not only gave us a moment we would never forget, but they also brought back a lot of childhood memories watching Star Wars. So, just like Mark Hamill said, Thank you Jon and Dave for not only bringing us this masterpiece in The Mandalorian but also for all the new memories we are making!

I am 52 and saw Star Wars when I was nine and have been a fan ever since. Although after seeing how Luke was treated in the last Jedi I literally was physically sick to my stomach at the end of that film. After what John and Dave did it made me like so many others was to make me feel like a kid again. They gave us in the season 2 finale one of those special Star Wars moments I havent seen since 1983. Thanks Mark, Thanks Jon and Dave and of course George I can’t wait to see whats next!
The last Trilogy tried to be anti-nostalgic. “Oh you want to see the heroes together again? We will kill Han. Oh you can’t wait to see Luke in Action? We won’t give him anything to say in the first movie. Oh you’re dying to see what Luke will do? We’ll ruin his character. This Episode is what happens when you give the fans what they actually want. It should have been a no brainer. Thank the Maker and than John the Redeemer.
I initially was an Ezra shipper, with a slight hope ( dare we?????) for Luke. When that X Wing showed up I was like that little girl back in ‘77 again. It was awesome and incredibly well done. I love the way it mirrored R1 Vader scene. One of my all time favourites. I am so excited to dare to hope that we can now follow our beloved old heroes again and will be happy to see Sebastian Shaw and Billy Lourd take up sabres and tell the story in between. Wonderful opportunity to weave Legends into the narrative.
