With the Christmas release of Wonder Woman 1984 behind us, we’re all wondering what’s next for Diana and the franchise. Well, now we know where the future is heading. Warner Bros and DC are fast tracking the third film in the series. Gal Gadot and Patty Jenkins are both returning for the Wonder Woman 3. The second film has done relatively well at the box office considering the worldwide circumstances. It’s pulled in $85 million in theaters and broken HBO Max subscriber numbers.
Speaking of HBO Max, nearly half of their current subscribers watched the film on Christmas. Reviews for the film are generally positive, and our review was particularly high on the hope and cheer of the film. It was a gamble for Warner and HBO Max to put the movie direct to the streaming platform, but it looks like it’s paying off. We’ll have to see with the upcoming slate of WB films going straight to HBO Max, if this strategy pays off.
So, what do you think of this news? Did you like Wonder Woman 1984? Are you excited for a third film in the series?
