You can just tell by the excitement and passion in his voice, that Giancarlo Esposito really loves his role as Moff Gideon. As a fan of the older Star Wars movies, he talks about being fascinated with Darth Vader, Esposito thought Vader, under that hard exterior, could be a person that brought light to Star Wars. He also goes on to talk about he was affected by actor Peter Cushing, who play Grand Moff Tarkin.
