Fans all over the Star Wars universe are still trying to process all that happened in the Season Finale of The Mandalorian. From Mando acquiring the Dark Saber, to the post-credit scene introducing us to the new Star Wars: The Book Of Boba Fett; fans could not believe what they were seeing. But even with all this Jon Favreau hand one more surprise hiding up his sleeve, the return of Luke Skywalker and R2-D2! Well, today on Good Morning America the new king of Star Wars Jon Favreau talked about the return of Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker.
From this interview we have learned that Mark Hamill was on set for the filming of The Rescue. What is even more amazing about this, is that they were able to keep all of it under wraps for so long.
“It’s very hard to keep a secret nowadays, especially with Star Wars,” said Favreau, “Every piece of casting leaked, we were so scared right up until it aired that our surprise cameo was going to leak too.”
Were you surprised that they were able to keep Mark Hamill’s cameo under wraps? What series from Jon Favreau are you looking forward to the most? That Hashtag Show wants to hear from you!

Hi Greg. I am neither surprised or surprised that they kept Mark Hamill secret. I am a Math Teacher and a huge Star Wars fan. I purposely did not track down all things about the Mandalorian Season 2 because I wanted to enjoy it. There were hints, but I did not go looking for them. I am big in the Star Wars community and am a 501st member so even then I did not join the discussions except lite ones on Social Media. I am thoroughly enjoying the show and am delightful at all the things hidden in the episodes that remind me of what Star Wars is all about. It is good to see someone who really knows Star Wars doing all the things that the fans want.
