Among Us

Surprise! You can now sus out space murders from your Switch. Among Us joins the Nintendo platform today.

The popular game was previously only available to play on computers and via mobile app. Now, Nintendo Switch users can also join the action.

Among Us is a multiplayer social deduction game. In the game, players complete small tasks to fix their spaceship — but someone (or a few someones, depending on the game size) is an Imposter, who’s only job is to kill off everyone on board.

The game was originally released in June of 2018. However, it saw a huge spike in popularity recently, fed by Twitch streams and a surge of memes. (And presumably, the COVID-19 quarantine.)

Nintendo announced the news with Among Us developer InnerSloth at the Indie World showcase. They also confirmed you won’t have to wait to play Among Us on your Nintendo Switch. The game releases today. The game also supports cross-play between the mobile and PC versions, so you can play with your friends no matter where they want to join in from.

The Nintendo Switch version of Among Us costs $5.00 (the same as the PC version). However, you will also need a Nintendo Switch Online membership to play. The option to purchase hasn’t gone live at the time of this posting, but you can expect it to be available soon. Here’s where you can find it in the Nintendo Store.

With this announcement, Nintendo becomes the only console to support Among Us.
