Today is a huge day for Disney, Marvel, and Star Wars fans. They’re having their annual Investors Meeting. So we’re going to be getting plenty of announcements about our favorite franchises. Deadline seems to have a scoop here, because after a bit of speculation, Rachel McAdams is coming back to the Doctor Strange series.
McAdams joins an absolutely huge cast in the second film. Benedict Wong, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Elizabeth Olsen, and Xochitl Gomez is coming in as a newcomer to Marvel. The film had some rough waters earlier this year when director Scott Derrickson left the projects. Sam Raimi was tapped to fill his shoes and off we went. Derrickson however, remains on as an Executive Producer.
The Marvel universe as we know it might end up changing because of the Multiverse mentioned in this film’s title. As with Spider-Man 3, we’re getting plenty of rumors and casting news from that film as well. Characters of the past are showing up, which very well could mean some characters that we’ve never seen like the X-Men and Fantastic Four.
So who knows, all we do know, is that the one person who grounds Doctor Strange as a character, is back in the film.
