Today is a huge day for Star Wars, Marvel and Disney fans. The annual Disney Investor’s meeting is today. If you don’t know exactly what that is, it’s when Disney shows off it’s biggest properties for the year coming up. Imagine that it’s like a four hour Comic-Con presentation for people to help them pay for the projects. So you can expect anything here, and in 2020, we would imagine it’s a huge focus on streaming shows. So let’s get right into the speculation, fan theories, and what we think is going to show up.
We, here at THS, try not to jump in this too much but you know Star Wars fans; we just can’t help it. So let’s talk about a few things we do know and a few things we don’t know and where we think this all leads.
The “What We Definitely Know” Category Of Star Wars Shows
We are definitely getting The Bad Batch. A Clone Wars spinoff. These characters were among the most popular during their run in the animated show, so this makes perfect sense to give them a spinoff. You can read more about what that might mean for a Bad Batch show, here.
The Murky Waters Of Rumors And Prequels, Sequels, Side-Stories, Etc.
Secondly there’s rumors about a Mandalorian prequel or maybe an Old Republic show that has been reported we do know what the descriptions are and who they are:
Code Name Kelton” 23 to 27 years old, all ethnicities male. British. Athletic. Fit. Strong-willed and confident, bordering on arrogant. Witchy. SUPPORTING”
Code name Lacey “23 to 30 years old, all ethnicities female. Preppy. Strong build. Leader. Will do anything to accomplish her goals, including lying to her own team. SUPPORTING”
It has been theorized that this is a new spin off for a Mandalorian prequel involving Boba Fett. But it could just as easily be for an Old Republic or High Republic show. This is the murkiest one we have for you today. We haven’t heard a lot about prequels especially for the Mandalorian and why one would be needed. It would most likely either involve Boba Fett, like we mentioned, or the Death Watch. We got glimpses of them in the second season of The Mandalorian. But we don’t know how they got there. It’s an interesting space for at least two stories to be told.
Back To A Little More Solid Speculation Involving Armor
Here’s what we do know: Mandalorian armor both for Death Watch and for Boba Fett by independent armor makers has been sold out for four to six months. Normally this would just be attributed to fans buying armor after getting hyped from the show. But in this case, we have confirmed from an independent source that this has been sold to production. This was sold prior to Chapter 14 of The Mandalorian and much more than what was needed for one character to play.
Could we be getting a spinoff series from the Mandalorian focusing on Bo-Katan’s quest for the Darksaber and to become the rightful heir to Mandalore?
Later today, we will have the answers but it would be very exciting to have five or six different Star Wars live action shows running at the same time!
The Final Bits Of Rumor And Speculation Combined With A Source On Boba Fett
Along with the armor makers we have confirmed with another independent source that Boba Fett is almost guaranteed getting his own series. Yes, like people assumed, The Mandalorian season two was a test run for these characters to see the reactions to them. Boba Fett is all but confirmed to be getting his own series.
Boba Fett was speculated to be getting his own movie since 2015. Eventually it was scrapped due to conflicts with the director. After the overwhelming response that was seen due to last week’s episode could LucasFilm finally do the show fans have been asking for for almost a decade? Our sources from multiple sides are saying yes. We won’t have to wait long to confirm from Disney.
Finishing Up With Ahsoka Tano and Ezra Bridger
We also have a theory that Ashoka is going to get her own series. This has to do with the fact that Rosario Dawson is much too big for a supporting role, our own theory supports this idea. It speaks of the Armourer and Dathomir being connected, you can check that out here.
The wild speculation is that Ezra Bridger is going to be the one to answer Grogu’s call. That would be an easy way to introduce our favorite character from Rebels. But doesn’t it feel like that Thrawn and Ezra need their own room to breath? They named dropped Thrawn in Episode 13, yes, but I doubt that this is the last we see of Ahsoka Tano or Thrawn.
These speculations and musings might be moot by the time the Disney Investor’s call rolls around, but we’re very confident in our sources on this one. From armor to Boba Fett all the way back to Ahsoka Tano, it’s going to be a wild four hours for Disney, Marvel, and Star Wars fans.
