Though Arrow has ended, David Ramsey will return to the CW’s Arrowverse.
Ramsey will guest star in five episodes across the DC TV universe. He will reprise his role as John Diggle/Spartan for Superman & Lois, Supergirl, The Flash, and Batwoman. Plus, Ramsey will appear in Legends of Tomorrow – in a mystery role, currently kept under wraps.
But Ramsey won’t just reappear in front of the camera. He’s also set to direct five episodes in the Arrowverse. Right now, Ramsey is confirmed to direct for both Superman & Lois and Supergirl.
The actor previously made his directorial debut during Arrow’s final run. Ramsey directed the second episode of the series’ final season. He expressed his excitement to return to the Arrowverse.
“I remain in awe of the imprint these shows have had on television and I’ve been blessed for the better part of a decade to be a part of them both in front of and behind the camera,” said Ramsey. “To say I’m excited beyond belief to return to the Berlantiverse would be an understatement. I can’t wait to continue telling these stories.”
We last saw Ramsey in the series finale of Arrow. His character Diggle moved to Metropolis after finding an emerald ring. Fans believe it’s actually the power ring worn by the character Green Lantern. Naturally, this led to speculation Ramsey/Diggle would return to the Arrowverse as Green Lantern.
While Arrow has ended (and Black Lightning will end after its upcoming season) the CW’s Arrowverse maintains quite a few series. Supergirl, The Flash, and Legends of Tomorrow are the longest-running. Batwoman was recently added to the lineup, with Superman & Lois upcoming. Basically, there’s plenty of opportunity for new DC characters – or old favorites – to turn up.
