2020 continues to be the year the coronavirus ruined everything, now with Marvel as well. Why, you might ask? Well, when Marvel Comics cancels a whole lot of comic book series, you know it sucks.

C is for comics and coronavirus.

Marvel Comics has officially announced the cancellation of numerous comic book series. All of them had originally been slate for a 2020 release. However, a certain pandemic delayed their release being pushed back. They’ve now unfortunately been pushed back so hard, that they fell off the calendar altogether. So we’ll never actually get to see what they’re about.

In most cases, the cancelled comic books involve ongoing series. This means that they’ll likely be stuck on cliffhangers, with no conclusion to ever finish them. A few of the cancelled comic books though hadn’t actually even begun yet before Marvel Comics cancelled them. These stillborn comic series include Silver Surfer Black Director’s Cut, X-Men Dawn of X Saga, and Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker Adaptation.

Yeah, that’s right, all you Star Wars fans. Marvel Comics has officially axed the planned comic book adaptation of the last entry in the Sequel Trilogy. This confirms earlier rumors of the same. That series would’ve closed at least some of the many plot holes in that movie. Unfortunately, we’ll never get to see how they did that now.
