It might not be the full fledged dream of Freddy Krueger in Stranger Things, but it’s the next best thing. On Twitter, the official Stranger Things handle revealed some new casting news for the upcoming fourth season of the show. While it’s been filming for awhile, and had a break due to COVID-19 restrictions, we now know that Robert Englund has joined the cast. The horror icon known for his role as the serial killer/slasher villain Freddy Krueger from the Nightmare on Elm Street series, hasn’t been in the public eye much when it comes to larger roles like this.
So for a horror fan like me, this is a goddamn dream. He’s playing Victor Creel. A man who was imprisoned for a disturbing murder in to 50’s. That sounds pretty well in Englund’s wheelhouse, so I cannot wait for this role.
In addition to Englund we got some other casting news from that Twitter thread. Other additions to Stranger Things 4 include The Twilight Saga‘s Jamie Campbell Bower, Booksmart co-star Eduardo Franco, and Game of Thrones player Tom Wlaschiha.
You can check out the whole thread with all their casting, here.
Like I said before, they’ve been filming season four of the show for awhile now. We’re finally getting some news about the upcoming season. We don’t have a release date, but we do have a small trailer that was released earlier in the year. You can check that out here.
