It looks like Deadpool 3 is finally moving forward.
Deadline reports Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Loeglin have been tapped to write the latest film in the franchise.
Disney and Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds have recently been meeting with writers to decide who should pen the next movie. Ultimately, they decided the Molyneux sisters fit the bill.
The duo currently serve as EP’s and writers on the hit Fox comedy Bob’s Burgers. They won an Emmy Award for the series in 2017. Plus, they’ve been Emmy-nominated for eight straight years. So there’s definitely evidence the Molyneux sisters have the writing and comedic chops to handle Deadpool.
Deadpool 3 is still in early development, but hiring writers does move the project along in the production track. The third flick in the series will mark the first time Marvel will work directly with Reynolds and the team. (Following Disney’s acquisition of Fox.)
Deadpool 2 premiered two years ago back in 2018.
