It’s been years in the making. But DC fans are inching closer to the new (and hopefully improved) Justice League.
Today, director Zack Snyder shared a new teaser for his upcoming version of the film. Watch the clip from Snyder’s Twitter below:
Snyder tweeted the teaser along with the hashtag #UsUnited. The teaser ends with Ben Affleck’s Batman assuring the Justice League, “I don’t care how many demons he’s fought in how many hells. He’s never fought us. Not us united.”
When Justice League debuted back in 2017, it did so to largely mixed-to-negative reviews. Since then, fans have been clamoring to see Snyder’s original vision for the film. (As a reminder, a personal tragedy led Snyder to step down from the project, which was taken up by Joss Whedon.)
Now, HBO Max plans to premiere Zack Snyder’s Justice League in 2021. With all of the additional elements Snyder wanted to include in the story, this new version won’t actually be a film. Instead, the events of Justice League will play out over a 4+ hour mini-series.
With Snyder’s version of Justice League running twice as long as the original film, we can expect plenty of new content. The project previously confirmed Jared Leto’s Joker would play a part. Fans have also speculated we’ll see new scenes with Joe Manganiello’s Deathstroke. And this new teaser includes Darkseid, whom Snyder wanted to set up as the main villain in a potential sequel.
So, what do you think about this new look at Zack Snyder’s Justice League? Do you feel like 2021 can’t come fast enough? (Or like you’re tired of getting these breadcrumb updates?) Let us know in the comments.
