It’s been quite the week for fans who’ve eagerly been waiting for details about the Snyder Cut. Fresh off the news that Jared Leto’s Joker will make an appearance, we’re now hearing another familiar face may crop up: Joe Manganiello’s Deathstroke.
The Hollywood Reporter previously announced reshoots for Zack Snyder’s Justice League had begun. Now, Collider says Manganiello is shooting additional material for the Snyder Cut. Manganiello appeared in the post credits scene of the 2017 film as Deathstroke. (The scene showed his recruitment by Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor.)
While neither Manganiello nor the studio have confirmed reshoots at this time, it seems reasonable to expect more from Deathstroke in the updated Justice League. Back in May when the Snyder Cut was originally announced, Manganiello posted on Instagram that fans would get to see “the original post credit scene.”
At the time of Manganiello’s initial post, his message seemed to imply footage from the original scene had been cut out. However, Collider points to Manganiello’s recent appearance on Twitch. The actor appeared to be sporting a very Deathstroke-like hairdo.
Earlier this month, Manganiello hedged when asked if Deathstroke would potentially return for the Snyder Cut.
“If I was a part of it, that wouldn’t be my place to announce that. That would be Zack’s place. So, whether or not that’s happening, that is an answer that is below my NDA level, or whatever you wanna call it,” Manganiello told Collider.
The Snyder Cut of Justice League will hit HBO Max in 2021. We’ve actually been promised 4 hours worth of content. So, there’s definitely room for a longer Deathstroke appearance.
