A Discovery of Witches hit New York Comic Con today. Fans were treated to a behind-the-scenes glimpse at the costuming and set design for season 2. Plus, we’ve finally got a teaser trailer! Check it out below.
A Discovery of Witches is adapted from Deborah Harkness’ popular All Souls trilogy. The second season will follow the events of the second novel, Shadow of Night.
Following the time-travel ending of season 1, season 2 picks up with Matthew (Matthew Goode) and Diana (Theresa Palmer) hiding out in Elizabethan London. Diana tries to expand her powers while they search for the Book of Life. And the gang in the present day has their own struggles. Marcus and Miriam try to protect Sophie, pregnant with a daemon baby. Meanwhile, Diana’s aunts Sarah and Em ally themselves with Matthew’s witch-hunter mother Ysabeau. And of course, Gerbert, Knox, Satu, and Domenico try to figure out what happened to Matthew and Diana.
Season 2 of A Discovery of Witches will debut in January 2021 on Sky TV, but US residents will have to wait a little longer. We don’t have a date yet, but it should be sometime in early 2021.
The first season of the show launched on Shudder and Sundance Now. After it proved incredibly popular, the series was later simulcast on AMC and BBC America alongside Killing Eve. During the panel, Harkness confirmed season 2 would air in the US on Shudder, Sundance Now, and AMC.
We also learned season 2 of A Discovery of Witches will be a little longer than season 1. We’re getting 10 episodes instead of 8 this time.
So, are you excited to follow Diana and Matthew into the past?
