Over on Dwayne Johnson’s Instagram, he gave out the first details of the cast for his upcoming show, Young Rock. The show, which we have multiple exclusive details about, finally has a principal cast. You can check out the different posts below.
From his Miami Hurricanes playing days, Uli Latukefu is playing the 20 year old version of Dwayne Johnson. You can read about the other Miami Hurricanes players who’ll be making an appearance on the show, here. From the looks of it, we’re going to be getting various views of Dwayne throughout his life. Other people that were cast include: Ana Tuisila as The Rock’s grandma, Lia Maivia. Adrian Groulx as 10 year old “Dewey” Dwayne Johnson. Joseph Lee Anderson as Rocky Johnson. Stacey Leilua as Dwayne’s mom, Ata Johnson. Finally, Bradley Constant is playing 15 year old, mustachioed, Dwayne Johnson.
Overall, this show is shaping up to be a pretty great celebration of The Rock’s early life. I’m guessing that it’ll be similar to Chris Rock’s show, Everybody Hates Chris, but with a bit more drama. It’ll be interesting to see how Dwayne Johnson figures into it, whether he’ll be the host, or do a voice-over, or what. All I do know, is that I can’t wait to see what wrestling legends show up on the show, like the Iron Sheik from our exclusive article.
Young Rock is beginning filming soon and will air on NBC.
