The animated wing of DC’s home video department has been on fire for many years now. With releases of most of the famous Batman arcs already out, it was only a matter of time before they got to this one. Batman: Death In The Family was a comic arc that shaped an entire generation of readers. Comic audiences were given a choice: save Jason Todd or kill him. Seeing as how unpopular Jason Todd was to comic audiences in 1988, it wasn’t a surprise what choice they made.

Now, with the advent of home video and animation, you can make that same choice. In an interactive story that has twists and turns, you get to decide how it ends. For the first time, DC is making this an interactive comic/Blu-Ray event. The Blu-Ray releases on October 13th. You can get it on digital the same day, but without the interactive portions.

Death in the Family

Death In The Family was a story that finally showed everyone in comics some emotion that we didn’t think Batman had. Anguish and remorse. Due to the choices of the audience, those were forced upon him. It’s one of the most important storylines in the history of Batman and it’ll be super exciting to be able to watch it at home.

In addition to Death In The Family, the Blu-Ray set contains several shorts of other DC properties. Shorts on the disc include: “Sgt. Rock,” “Adam Strange,” “Death” and “The Phantom Stranger.”
