The pre-order process for the next-generation consoles has been a nightmare to say the least. That being said, there should be less issues in the weeks and months after the release of the consoles. Gamestop had the right idea for the pre-order process of the Xbox Series X/S when they instituted a queue. The PS5 pre-order process wasn’t so lucky. After months of Sony saying that they wouldn’t surprise people with a pre-order period, lo and behold, they surprised people. So if you missed out on one, you missed out. Until now.
It’s limited to the standard $500 edition of the console. Strangely, the disc-drive-less version of the console is proving hard to find. This is fantastic news for PS5 fans though, so if you missed out on the first round of pre-orders, go for this.
The main issue with this, however, is that they’re not providing a time, just the date, tomorrow, Friday, September 25th. So I’m assuming that at midnight eastern, 9:00pm pacific is when they go up, but I’m not entirely sure. This is the link to where you’ll want to go when the time comes. And remember, it’s ONLY this link. And you better hope if there’s a queue, that Gamestop’s website doesn’t spit you out of it early, like it did with me.
So that’s what you need to know about new PS5 pre-orders! May all the luck be with you, and let’s hope everyone can get their hands on one.
