Mickey Mouse and all his friends head to Disney+ in a series of all-new animated shorts.
The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse brings your favorite classic Disney pals back for new adventures. The animation combines contemporary art styles with the classic look of the original “Mickey Mouse” cartoons from 1928.
The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse will see Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, and Pluto “embark on their greatest adventures yet.” The shorts each run for seven minutes. Episodes will combine modern settings with timeless stories and laugh-out-loud comedy.
The series will include stories inspired by various lands at Disney parks. In addition, expect to see cameos from classic Disney heritage characters!
The new series debuts on Disney+ Wednesday, November 18. (That’s Mickey Mouse’s birthday, for those who are unaware.) After that, two new shorts roll out every Friday beginning November 27. A total of ten shorts will premiere this year. Then, 10 additional shorts drop in summer of 2021.
The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse comes from Emmy Award winning artist and director Paul Rudish. Rudish serves as executive producer and supervising director on the shorts. The team also includes Emmy winning composer Christopher Willis.
More Mickey Mouse
The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse actually follows an earlier series of Mickey shorts that aired on Disney Channel. That series launched in 2013 and ran for five seasons. The 96-episode series earned seven Primetime Emmy Awards, two Daytime Emmy Awards and 21 Annie Awards.
These shorts even inspired a new Disney park attraction, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway.
All five seasons of the shorts are available to stream on Disney+ now. The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse debuts on the streamer November 18.
