For those that enjoyed this summer’s mega DC Comics crossover called Dark Knight – Death Metal, Joshua Williamson might be a name you wish to follow on twitter if you do not already. Williamson recently tweeted out some images from his up-coming contribution to the overall story that look absolutely amazing. They come from his title called Dark Knight Death Metal – Speed Metal. Speed Metal – Coming Fast!
This 48 page comic takes place right after the events of Dark Knights: Death Metal #3. The story becomes too long and complicated to explain here, so to get caught up you might have to do some digging. Not only is the world in trouble but every single dimension of the Multi-verse depends on what happens with this arc. The synopsis for Williamson’s one-shot reads as thus:
It’s the drag race from hell! Taking place after the event of Dark Knights: Death Metal #3, the Darkest Knight is after Wally West and his Dr. Manhattan powers. Thankfully, Wally has back-up in the form of Barry Allen, Jay Garrick, and Wallace West! It’s a knockdown, drag out race through the Wastelands as the Flash Family tries to stay steps ahead of the Darkest Knight and his Lightning Knights!

Anyone who loves the Flash and all his variants really needs to check out this comic series when it drops. Who knows, you may want to pick up the entire Dark Knight: Death Metal series as well. It seems like most of these epic story lines come down to what the Flash can do. For another great example, check out Heroes in Crisis and its 9 issue story arc.
