The Amazing Spider-Man #850
The last time we saw the Green Goblin was in Absolute Carnage. Before that, the last time he was the main threat was when he merged with the Carnage symbiote to become the Red Goblin. Now Marvel Comics has released a trailer on their official Youtube channel to promote the upcoming Spider-Man issue 850.
The trailer opens with the Green Goblin monologuing about the back and forth relationship he and Peter Parker have.
“How long have we tormented one another, Peter? I call you a fool, you call me a madman,” Osborn sneers in the trailer. “I take someone you love, you lock me up. It’s a vicious cycle, little spider.”

The Green Goblin’s speech feels like one that would normally be given by the Joker. A testament to how deep the relationship between the two is, and how much it has changed over the years. Long ago the Gobin’s goals were simply to dispose of Spiderman to prove himself to the New York underworld. But after countless battles, and the death of friends and family on both sides. The relationship between the two has become one of personal hate.
The trailer then shows images of the Green Goblin and Spiderman battling. Accompanied by images of other Spider themed heroes. Including Miles Morales, Silk, Spider-Woman, and Spider-Girl, Spider-Gwen, and Madam Web.
The Creative Team
The creative team behind the book is also introduced. Including writer Nick Spencer, and Ryan Ottley, Humberto Ramos, and Mark Bagley. Ottley will also be doing the cover for the book.
The trailer ends with more images of battle followed by a haunting silhouette of the Green Goblin holding a pumpkin bomb and laughing. One again invoking images of the Joker.
Amazing Spider-Man #850 goes on sale Sept. 30th.
