Keanu means business once more!

In a recent trend Hollywood started tying action heroes, their movies and comics all together. BOOM! Studios released a comic series based on the Vin Deisel movie Bloodshot. Perhaps this might have caught on more had the virus not tanked the movies release, but BOOM! forges ahead. This time they are teaming up with Keanu Reeves for the comic BRZRKR 1, but not only does this title feature Keanu, he teams up with the creative teams to help write it! Reeves teams up with Matt Kindt (Folklords, Justice League of America), artist Ron Garney (Wolverine, Captain America),  Eisner and Harvey Award-nominated colorist Bill Crabtree (BPRD), and letterer Clem Robins (Hellboy).

BRZRKR 1 – Wolvie and Wick Got Nothing on BRXRKR

The man known only as Berzerker is half-mortal and half-God, cursed and compelled to violence…even at the sacrifice of his sanity. But after wandering the world for centuries, Berzerker may have finally found a refuge – working for the U.S. government to fight the battles too violent and too dangerous for anyone else. In exchange, Berzerker will be granted the one thing he desires – the truth about his endless blood-soaked existence…and how to end it.

This title also comes with the warning:

Please note: BRZRKR is an action-packed, high octane comic book series with depictions of graphic violence, blood, and gore.

You will be able to order the single issues through your local comic book shop until Oct 1. They will release on or about that date.

BOOM! Studios said the following on why they decided to use Kickstarter for the graphic novels:

“Many companies use Kickstarter to fund their projects. We are not doing this,” said Ross Richie, CEO & Founder, BOOM! Studios. “We are working with Kickstarter as a distribution platform to expand our reach. It’s our dream here at BOOM! Studios to introduce new readers to the medium of comic books and graphic novels. By combining the reach of Kickstarter with the interest in Keanu Reeves and the action-packed epic that is BRZRKR, we’re excited to introduce so many folks to their very first comic book.”
