Our friends at Call of Duty Tracker and some crafty people that datamined the files in Modern Warfare have uncovered some gold about Black Ops Cold War. The biggest news uncovered was likely to be the release date. Tomorrow is the big gameplay reveal for the game, but we have the proposed release date of: November 13th. In addition to this release date, because of the datamined information, we have the date for the multiplayer reveal as well, which is September 9th. So it looks like we’re having only single-player gameplay or Zombies mode detailed tomorrow.

From the Trackers, we got the word about pre-order bonuses for the game.

As expected from modern Call of Duty titles, Black Ops Cold War will feature an Open Beta for players to experience the game before its release. Those who’ve pre-purchased the game will receive exclusive access to the Beta before it is made available to the public. We believe that this is a Multiplayer Beta, though the information does not explicitly state this.

Players who purchase select editions of the game will also receive access to exclusive cosmetic items in Black Ops Cold War as well as Modern Warfare and Warzone. With this information, we can confirm that the upcoming title will feature content seasons and a paid Battle Pass, such as the model seen in Infinity Ward’s current title.

But What About The Timeline For Black Ops?

For fans of the Call of Duty story, this is a soft reboot of the storyline. The date from Modern Warfare backs this up, you can read it below.

The iconic Black Ops series is back with Call of Duty®: Black Ops Cold War – the direct sequel to the original and fan-favorite Call of Duty®: Black Ops

Are Mason, Woods, and Hudson Returning?

So we’re automatically starting off at the end of Black Ops 1. Here’s some more of the description of the story.

Call of Duty®: Black Ops. Black Ops Cold War will drop fans into the depths of the Cold War’s volatile geopolitical battle of the early 1980s. Nothing is ever as it seems in a gripping single-player Campaign, where players will come face-to-face with historical figures and hard truths, as they battle around the globe through iconic locales like East Berlin, Vietnam, Turkey, Soviet KGB headquarters and more. As elite operatives, you will follow the trail of a shadowy figure named Perseus who is on a mission to destabilize the global balance of power and change the course of history. Descend into the dark center of this global conspiracy alongside iconic characters Woods, Mason and Hudson and a new cast of operatives attempting to stop a plot decades in the making.

Finally outside of the story mode/campaign for news, we’re going to have three different versions of the game. Standard, cross-gen, and Ultimate. I’m guessing the Ultimate edition would be some sort of collector’s edition and the other two are self-explanatory. This means that the game isn’t necessarily being developed with the next-gen in mind, which could bode well for it. We’ll have to see if all of this is the complete truth tomorrow when we get the gameplay reveal.
