The new series for Netflix’s Unsolved Mysteries was a bit of a departure from the old show. It didn’t have Robert Stack and the shows are narrated by the people involved in the stories. It’s less of a weekly anthology type show and all about a single story. The first season consisted of six episodes of varying topics. It only had one based on the supernatural though. Or so we though. Volume 2 of season one is coming October 19th on Netflix.
The official description for the second volume goes like this.
In six new episodes, Unsolved Mysteries profiles more unexplained disappearances, tragic events, and bizarre occurrences. Perhaps one viewer holds the key to solving these cases. Detectives, journalists, and family members offer intriguing theories in this gripping series, from the creators of the original docuseries, Cosgrove/Meurer Productions, and 21 Laps Entertainment, the producers of Stranger Things.
The first volume was fantastic and gripping. Here’s to hoping that the second can match up to the quality. If you’re a big fan of the original series, it’s a bit of a system shock watching. That familiar host isn’t with you, but the stories are still just as captivating. Giving the one story some time to breath and gestate is great for the pace of the show also. I’m a big fan and can’t wait to see what these next six episodes hold. What do you think of Unsolved Mysteries? Let us know in the comments.
