Hilary Swank is ready to take you far, far Away – out into space, in fact.
The emotional drama comes from Netflix and executive producer Jason Katims. Katims is known for projects like Friday Night Lights and Parenthood. Based on Katim’s previous work and the trailer Netflix just dropped, you’re going to need to break out the tissues for Away.

Away follows astronaut Emma Green (Swank) as she leads her crew on the first mission to Mars. Green grapples with the difficult decision to leave behind her husband (Josh Charles) and teenage daughter (Talitha Bateman). As the crew’s journey into space intensifies, so do the effects of leaving their lives and loved ones behind on Earth.

Misha Popov (Mark Ivanir): A Russian cosmonaut and engineer – the most experienced member of the crew. He’s egoistic, but secretly struggling with the personal sacrifices he made to join the mission.
Kwesi Weisberg-Adebayo (Ato Essandoh): A British citizen from Ghana and a world-renowned botanist. Good humored and modest, he hopes to grow life on Mars.
Ram Arya (Ray Panthaki): An Air Force fighter pilot from India. While the other astronauts are forced to reckon with their attachments to earth and their families, Ram is quite alone in the world.
Lu Wang (Vivian Wu): A Chinese chemist. Intelligent and pragmatic, Lu seems focused, but she too struggles with a complex personal life.
