We all know that one person who, when you gush about your favorite franchise, utters the unthinkable words “I’ve never seen Star Wars.” I know, I find it hard to believe too. But, sadly, those folks do exist. So what’s the best way to get them up to speed? Well, you could launch into a dissertation about the Force, Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader and the like…. Or you could direct them to the Star Wars Kids channel on Youtube. There they can learn all about the galaxy far, far away with Star Wars in Under Five Minutes!
In a series of shorts, the Star Wars Kids channel dives into lightning-round summaries of nearly all episodes of the Star Wars film franchise and then some. Eight of nine Skywalker saga films find representation, from The Phantom Menace to The Last Jedi. (The Star Wars in Under Five Minutes series is notably missing 2019’s The Rise of Skywalker, however.)

Also absent from the series are the stand-alone “a Star Wars Story” films of Rogue One and Solo. Not to fret, though. There’s plenty of additional material to peak a newbie’s interest in Star Wars. How many times have you heard “I don’t watch the cartoons?” Fine. Cartoons aren’t your thing. But…. There’s a lot of canon material in those animated features. Perhaps one of the best among the Star Wars in Under Five Minutes shorts highlights Anakin and Obi-Wan’s relationship in The Clone Wars.
In fact, The Clone Wars features heavily on the channel. Four separate shorts are dedicated to the critically acclaimed series.
So, do you need to introduce someone to Star Wars? Or maybe just want a refresher yourself? All you need is the Internet and less than five minutes of your time. Unless you want to watch them all, of course. To see the entirety of Star Wars in Under Five Minutes, plan on just shy of an hour.
