The Child’s Play remake from last year was not the best. It didn’t capture the magic of the original, and worst of all it replaced Brad Dourif as Chucky. While Mark Hamill did an admirable job, there are some roles that only one person can pull off. Chucky is Brad Dourif’s role, it’s that simple. Luckily for all of us, he’s going to be lending his voice to the killer doll once again. TV Line has confirmed that Dourif will play Chucky again in the SyFy Network TV series.
A Bonus Plot Summary For Chucky
Don Mancini created Chucky and Child’s Play in the first place. He’s going to be Showrunner and an Executive Producer on the show. We also have a plot summary for the show right here.
After a vintage Chucky doll turns up at a suburban yard sale, an idyllic American town is thrown into chaos as a series of horrifying murders begin to expose the town’s hypocrisies and secrets. Meanwhile, the arrival of enemies — and allies — from Chucky’s past threatens to expose the truth behind the killings, as well as the demon doll’s untold origins as a seemingly ordinary child who somehow became this notorious monster.
The new show led by Mancini could be a game changer for Horror on television. Something in the vein of Ash vs. Evil Dead is possible here. With a cohesive storyline and the creator of the series at the helm, the sky is the limit for Chucky. The series is set to debut on SyFy in 2021.
