Amazon’s The Boys are back, and the Supes are hunting them down.
The new teaser trailer for season 2 brings back everything you love about The Boys and more. Action-packed and darkly funny, the trailer gives us a taste of what we can expect when the new season drops September 4. Check it out below:
The trailer for the superhero satire shows us The Boys have gained notoriety in all the worst ways. Frenchie, Hughie, Kimiko, Marvin, and Billy consider this basically a death sentence.
The Supes have a new recruit, a hero called Stormfront (Aya Cash). Her electric powers prove shocking in more ways than one.
Meanwhile, Homelander doesn’t seem to be doing much better. He’s shoving (his own??) kid off a roof. He’s using his laser vision to slice off the fingers of a military official. On top of it all, he’s taking a very Trumpian politics approach to gaining the support of the American public.
In line with Homelander’s new approach at labeling The Boys superhuman terrorists, Amazon also released a special Wanted poster to promote the new season. The style pays tribute to the artwork of the original comic art by Darick Robertson.
What else do we know about season 2?
Season 2 of The Boys will be 8 episodes long. The first three episodes of the new season drop September 4 on Amazon Prime. The following five episodes will be released on a weekly basis.
The critically acclaimed drama will pick up from the first season cliffhanger. Star Jack Quaid hyped up the new season, stating it would be even more action-packed and dive deeper into character development.
“I think that that’s what’s important about Season 2 is not that you just go bigger and have more fights – which we totally have – but that you really delve into the characters and understand what makes them tick. And I know from Hughie’s perspective, we get into a lot of that. So yeah. I’m just really excited for people to see season two. I think it’s even better than season one, in my opinion,” said Quaid.
