As AMC will be reopening in mid July, we want to talk about changes to the movie going experience post COVID-19. With the pandemic still happening, movie theaters will face some issues but are well equipped for the challenge.
AMC will be reopening their movie theaters in waves. The first being on the 15th of July, with others following. For the moviegoers safety, AMC has something called “Safe & Clean”. A set of protocols to keep its crew and guest safe and healthy. All protocols are handled by Dr. Joseph Allen a expert from Harvard School of Public Health.
What’re Their Protocols?
The protocols for re-opening are as follows. Disinfecting highly touched equipment routinely after ever showing. Social distancing. Upgraded equipment stated by AMC’s website. AMC will be using special vacuum cleaners in between shows. They’ll also have disinfectant sprayed on the seats in between movies. They want you to feel as safe and comfortable as possible.
AMC will be reducing their menu items but items like popcorn, Cola beverages, candy, Hotdogs, Nachos and other classic treats will be available still. Refills of larger popcorn and fountain drinks will not be available to reduce contact. Cash will only be accepted at the box office. At concessions, they’ll be accepting debit, credit, and gift cards. It’s much safer and easier to use online services for tickets. In the case of the actual theaters, they’ll be at a limited capacity.
What movies are you excited for this upcoming summer season? Are these protocols enough for you to return to theaters?
