Jon Favreau confirmed the release date for the second season of The Mandalorian at the ATX TV Festival. It was rumored to be set for around an October release, but now it’s confirmed. COVID-19 won’t be pushing the second season of the smash Star Wars show. Jon Favreau is involved in the post-production of the show and he had this to say about it.
We were lucky enough to have finished photography before the lockdown, so thanks to how technology-forward Lucasfilm and ILM are, we’ve been able to do all the editing visual effects remotely… It will be available as planned on Disney+ in October
That’s a reassuring confirmation from the multi-faceted director. The Mandalorian season two news has been flying recently. With confirmations about various characters returning or making their debuts. Disney+ is really the next frontier for what we can hope with Star Wars content.
Because of this, we now have a locked down view of when to expect the show. Following this news, we’ll have to see where season two of the show takes us. So, hopefully this means that other Disney+ shows can be completed on time like Falcon and The Winter Soldier. The possibilities for Star Wars on the platform are endless. The Mandalorian was just the first show to give us a taste of what was possible.
In addition to this news, we got a whole bunch of casting news like Katee Sackhoff joining the cast, Michael Biehn being cast in a role, and of course, Rosario Dawson portraying Ahsoka Tano.
The work on the show is all being done remotely and safely. So, luckily they finished principle photography before the shutdown happened. We’ll make sure to keep you updated on this developing story and all The Mandalorian season two news as it happens.
