It’s looking like we’re going to have two separate Ahsoka Tano to root for in Star Wars. Ashley Eckstein is the voice of Ahsoka Tano on the Clone Wars television show. Last week, news broke about Rosario Dawson being cast as Ahsoka for the second season of The Mandalorian. Additionally, rumors and sources spoke about how her appearance could be a “pilot” for her own series. Fans waited to see if perhaps they would do something similar to Darth Maul’s appearance in Solo. Ahsoka is one of the biggest fan-favorite characters of the new generation of Star Wars. We waited for Ashley Eckstein to make a comment about it, and now we finally have our answer. In an Instagram post, she talked about what she thinks of it.
Eckstein Is Super Positive About It At Least
As you can see from the post, she’s very passionate about the character of Ahsoka Tano. What’s positive about this is that while she might be disappointed that she’s not portraying the character, she does recognize that Ahsoka takes tons of people to get made. Her thoughts should echo throughout the Star Wars landscape. Even if something doesn’t go your way, it’s not better to just flame out the person who did get the job.
What also is apparent, is that this isn’t the last of Ahsoka that we’re going to see from Ashley. Even if Dawson takes the live-action version to new heights, Eckstein will always be the voice of Ahsoka in animation. It’s a new world we’re going into for Star Wars, and I’m delighted to see one of my favorite characters continue on in two branching but similar paths.
What do you think about this? I know fans of Eckstein’s are sure to be disappointed by this. Let us know in the comments.
