According to a report from WrestlingINC, Wrestlemania 36 will be held at the Performance Center in Orlando, FL. This is a big departure from the previously unknown plan for WWE’s biggest event of the year. Vince McMahon is known for letting the show go on, this is no different. The Performance Center is where WWE’s shows are going to be coming from for the forseeable future.
The huge show was originally supposed to come from Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, FL. The rise of the coronavirus has caused that plan to be changed. Wrestlemania 36 will air live on PPV and the WWE Network. Only essential personnel will be on site.
In addition to this announcement, Wrestlemania 36 Week in Tampa has been cancelled.
Here’s the official announcement from WWE:
In coordination with local partners and government officials, WrestleMania and all related events in Tampa Bay will not take place. However, WrestleMania will still stream live on Sunday, April 5 at 7 pm ET on WWE Network and be available on pay-per-view. Only essential personnel will be on the closed set at WWE’s training facility in Orlando, Florida to produce WrestleMania.
Wrestlemania 36’s Card And What This Means
Wrestlemania 36 was gearing up to be one of the biggest events in the history of the company. It had a stacked card filled with great matches. Lucky for all of us, we’ll still be able to see it. These are crazy times we’re going through. Vince McMahon and WWE are going to ensure that we have some entertainment to get us through it. I commend him and WWE for putting forward a product that all of us can enjoy through this tough time.
In regards to the Mania card, it’s got some big top-end matches. Brock Lesnar vs. Drew McEntyre. AJ Styles vs. Undertaker. Goldberg vs. Roman Reigns. No matter what you think about this though, this is all good for wrestling fans. If you want to come out and complain about how Smackdown felt empty and boring without a crowd, it’s either this or nothing. I’ll take this any day.
As for today, Monday Night RAW will air live from the Performance Center as well. What do you think of this announcement? Are you still going to watch Wrestlemania 36?
