EXCLUSIVE: Last year Netflix premiered The Society, a modern-day adaptation of Lord of The Flies. In this exclusive, we bring you descriptions for some of the new characters arriving in the show’s sophomore season. Based on the character descriptions, The Society Season 2 looks to be turning up the steam. If you’re not familiar with the series, here’s the official story line from the streaming service:
When West Ham, an idyllic New England suburb, becomes polluted with a rotten stench in the air, the parents of the town decide to bus their teenage children away for their own safety. Things get strange, however, when, after hours on the bus, the 200+ teenagers are mysteriously re-deposited back in New Ham in the middle of the night. The stench is now gone, but also gone are their parents and any road leading out of town (all of which are now blocked by a thick forest). Now with no way out, no grown-ups, or even a connection to the outside world to govern them (even the internet has turned to static), these teens will party, panic, grieve, fight, and ultimately have to decide how to deal with the unthinkable… how will they survive this? Is that even possible?
The Society Season 2 character descriptions
Below are the character descriptions for new cast members. From the looks of it, Netflix is looking to ramp up the show’s sexuality as the teens adjust to living in a parent-less world. As you’ll notice, several of the character descriptions for The Society Season 2 indicate that the actor “must be comfortable with simulated sex scenes.”
[AVA] Character is female, African American. 18+ to play 16-17. Must be comfortable with simulated sex scenes. The daughter of a wealthy hedge fund manager, she grew up in a privileged household. Attractive, charming, cool and fun, with a relaxed air about her. [Recurring guest performer, possible series option.]

[BEAU] Character is male, any ethnicity. 18+ to play 16-17. Must be comfortable with simulated sex scenes. Tall and physically imposing, he is the kind of guy that gets recruited for sports but isn’t actually good at them.
