Hold on to your helmets, Clone Wars fans! We now have OFFICIAL word from Disney and Lucasfilm that The Clone Wars returns February 21, not the 17th as previously reported. Watch the new trailer above, and check out the official new poster art below:
The trailer begins with an ominous voiceover from Darth Maul telling us that the galaxy will soon be remade…. “The Jedi and the Republic will die.” It is evident from the trailer for The Clone Wars that its final season will be an exciting and emotional one. “Every choice made has led to this.”
The Clone Wars Returns February 21
As expected, the final season looks to focus heavily on former padawan Ahsoka Tano. It also confirms her allegiance with Mandalorian leader Bo-Katan Kryze. The seventh season of The Clone Wars looks as if it will also focus on the clones’ inner turmoil that began to grow in Season 6. Even Captain Rex seems to be questioning the war. Without it, the clones wouldn’t exist. But… their existence comes at great cost. Will that cost prove to be too much?
Every indication is that the final season of The Clone Wars will also show us Anakin’s growing unrest in the Force. If the look on his face in this scene is any indication, we’re going to see the Dark Side creep into the tormented Jedi’s psyche even more.
The official synopsis is as follows:
One of the most critically-acclaimed entries in the Star Wars saga will be returning for its epic conclusion with twelve all-new episodes on Disney+ beginning Friday, February 21. From Dave Filoni, director and executive producer of “The Mandalorian,” the new Clone Wars episodes will continue the storylines introduced in the original series, exploring the events leading up to Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith.”
We’ll see you February 21!
